The key to providing instantaneous information about the nervous system, and adequacy of blood flow to these structures, is to use an assortment of neurodiagnostic tests in tandem so that an ongoing determination of how the nervous system is functioning receives focus as the surgery is performed. 

Some surgeons are using limited equipment with inexperienced operators performing IONM who are NOT adqequately certified or fluent in multi-modality testing.  Our organization understands the importance of the surgeon-technologist relationship and that more effective IONM occurs when expectations are in place and do not change from one case to another.  Therefore, we devote specific monitoring technologists to each facility requesting our services.  Consequently, the surgeon benefits from the experience of familiarity with the technologists that monitor cases for him.
